This fundraiser is in memory of a Suffolk County Police Officer's son, a sweet 5 year old boy named Nicolas Lorusso who sadly gained his angel wings in February 2021 after battling pediatric cancer for over four years.  Being diagnosed with an incurable disease is devastating for anyone to hear. And traveling back and forth to the hospital and/or clinics for treatment can be simply exhausting both on the patient and caregiver.  The Lorusso Family knows this firsthand because they dealt with driving thru traffic on a daily basis during their son's treatments and it was tolling on them. So in memory of their brave warrior, The Lorusso Family would like to do something good for the members of the Suffolk County Police Department by raising funds for a transport vehicle strictly designated for the transport of SCPD law enforcement members, spouses and children to and from their home and treatment center to help alleviate the stress of driving while undergoing such extensive treatment. The name of this transport vehicle will be called "Angel Wings on Wheels" and it will be sponsored by the Suffolk County PBA . The Lorusso Family feels this would be a wonderful way to keep their beautiful boys memory alive and will serve as a good deed for Suffolk County's brothers and sisters in blue.
