We come together to support one of our own Erica Elramly, a 49-year-old EMT from Long Island who has always been among the first to respond when others needed help. Now, it’s our turn to show up for her.
In March 2025, Erica was diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer. Since then, she has undergone a bilateral mastectomy and is now preparing to begin chemotherapy. The financial burden of treatment coupled with the responsibility of raising her four children, Sarah, Zack, Keira, and Hannah has placed immense strain on Erica and her family.
A proud member of the Lakeland Fire Department since 2017, Erica has consistently ranked among the top responders each year. She earned her EMT certification through hard work and dedication, and now serves as Lieutenant of Lakeland’s EMS Company affectionately known as the department’s “Mom.” Her home cooked Tuesday night dinners and constant encouragement have become a treasured part of Lakeland’s culture.
In addition to her volunteer service, Erica works full-time as an EMT at Stony Brook University Hospital, continuing to serve her community with strength and compassion.
Now, Erica needs us. Her Lakeland family and loved ones are raising funds to help cover the overwhelming medical expenses and ensure stability for her children during this challenging time.
Let’s rally around Erica a mother, a caregiver, a leader, and a friend who has always shown up for us.
Any contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference.
Please donate and share to support Erica on her road to recovery.
Because heroes need help, too.
