It is with tremendous heartbreak and sadness that we share the sudden loss of Daly City Police Sergeant Shane Hart #65.
Shane started his career as an officer with the Daly City Police Department on November 18, 2010. Prior to becoming a Police Officer, Shane was a combat veteran in the United States Marine Corps, 1st Battalion, 5th Marines, serving in the Scout Sniper Platoon.
Shane was proactive, professional and caring, all traits that led him to become a beloved leader within the department. He excelled at decision making under pressure, lending to his position as a Team Leader on the SWAT Team and within the Sniper Unit.
After being assigned to the Crime Suppression Unit and San Mateo County Vehicle Theft Task Force, Shane was promoted to the position of Police Sergeant in 2022.
Beyond the badge, Shane was a devoted husband to his wife Christina, and he was a loving father to his son Christian. We are asking for donations to support Christina with funeral and memorial expenses.

To you and your family and children and to my son, Mike Brennan (DCPD) who is feeling this loss very deeply. The loss and sorrow that you are feeling cannot be understood by many people. Your husband was a warrior, a loving husband and , loving father. Take his legacy and love forward to honor his life and what he wanted for himself and those who loved him.

I didn’t know him or his family, I didn’t even hear of him unless my Sister Jody DiMauro had told me about his ultimate sacrifice. May his God hold him and his family in his protective shadow and watch and protect his wife and son. I am so thankful that men like him are here to stand on the wall and protect the rest of us. May he rest in peace, and may his family find peace in this terrible tragedy. God Speed
