Didarul Islam was more than a Police Officer—he was a devoted father to two young boys, a beloved son, a caring husband, and a big brother not only to his sisters but to countless cousins, both here and in Bangladesh.
He arrived in the United States from Bangladesh in 2009, driven by a dream to build a better future for his family. That dream led him to proudly join the NYPD in 2021, where he dedicated himself to serving the city and the nation with honor.
Didarul leaves behind his pregnant wife, two little boys, his aging parents, two heartbroken sisters, and a wide circle of cousins, friends, and well-wishers whose lives he touched deeply.
He was known for his soft-spoken nature, boundless kindness, and unwavering willingness to help anyone in need. He always showed up—without hesitation, without question.
We lost not just a brother, but a piece of our hearts.
May Allah (SWT) grant him the highest place in Jannah and surround his family with strength and mercy during this unimaginable time. Ameen.

Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh, As a Muslim brother and firefighter in France, I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the family of Officer Didarul Islam, who was martyred this Monday while serving his community in New York. May Allah, The Most Merciful, welcome him into His vast Paradise, forgive his shortcomings, and grant him the highest place in Jannah Al-Firdaus. May He also grant patience and comfort to his family during this painful trial, as well as to all his brothers in arms. His sacrifice is an example of courage, dedication, and selflessness for all those who serve others, whether in firefighting or in the police force.
