It is with deep sorrow that we announce the untimely passing of Police Officer Michael Lerner, who was tragically involved in a fatal off-duty motorcycle accident. Mike leaves behind three children. A devoted and loving father, Mike always prioritized his family above all else.

Mike served his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps for four years of active duty, during which time he served two combat tours in Iraq. Following his military service, Mike dedicated over ten years to the New York Police Department, where he rose to the rank of Sergeant before continuing his law enforcement career with the Rockville Centre Police Department.

Known for his charisma and humor, Mike brought light and laughter to everyone he encountered. He was not only a dependable and knowledgeable officer but also a person who consistently went the extra mile for his friends and co-workers. Mike's absence leaves a void in the hearts of many, and he will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
