Sergeant Nicholas Lettieri, age 34, an 11-year veteran of the Torrington Police Department passed away on April 5, 2025 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was surrounded by his family, loved ones, friends and members of his TPD and law enforcement family. He is survived by his wife Meghan and 2-year-old son Finn.

Sergeant Lettieri was born and raised in New Jersey. He attended the University of New Haven, where his life took a pivotal turn when he met his future wife, Meghan. Their relationship blossomed, and the couple married in September of 2018. In December of 2022, Nick and Meghan welcomed their son, Finn, into the world, marking a joyous new chapter in their lives.

Professionally, Nick embarked on a career in law enforcement when he joined the Torrington Police Department in October of 2014. His dedication to his work and community was quickly recognized, and he was promoted to Sergeant in 2021, demonstrating his leadership, commitment, and integrity. Nick's career is a reflection of his strong sense of service, and he was a respected member of the police department.

In October of 2023, Nick became suddenly ill and was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, a diagnosis that brought immense challenges to him and his family. Despite the difficulties, Nick remained resilient through surgical treatments and chemotherapy.  He completed his first round of chemotherapy in May 2024.  Sadly, in February 2025 it was discovered his cancer had returned.  He tragically passed away on April 5, 2025.  His courage and determination serve as an inspiration to his loved ones, colleagues, and anyone who hears his story. Nick's journey is one of service, love, and perseverance.

Please help us support Meghan and Finn during this tragic time.
