For eight years, Josue Torres served as a New York City Police Department officer, committed to public service and the responsibilities entrusted to him.
In 2023, following an internal departmental process, Officer Torres was dismissed from the NYPD. He disputes this decision and is actively contesting it through the appropriate legal channels. Seeking a fair and complete review requires experienced legal counsel, extensive preparation, and significant financial resources.
Employment-related legal cases involving large institutions are often complex and costly. Attorney retainers, court filings, and ongoing legal work have created a substantial financial strain on Josue and his family. Without support, pursuing due process becomes increasingly complex.
This fundraiser exists to help ensure that Josue Torres has access to the legal representation necessary to present his case and defend his rights fully.

How Your Support Will Help
All funds raised will be used for case-related legal expenses, including:
• Attorney retainers and hourly legal fees
• Court and filing costs
• Other necessary legal expenses directly related to the case
This effort is not about speculation or assigning blame. It is about fairness, due process, and the fundamental right to be heard.

Personal Statement from Josue Torres
“I am a private person, and making public statements is outside my comfort zone. My dismissal in June 2023 and the criminal charges brought against me in October 2024 were in retaliation for my civil litigation against the NYPD. These events caused significant emotional distress and an overwhelming financial burden. I am grateful to the jury for my acquittal this December, 2025, and deeply thankful to those who have stood by me. I appreciate everyone who supports my continued fight for due process.”
