Paul Budrow has spent much of his life showing up for others. Now, he and his family need their community to show up for them, even though they would never ask for the help themselves.

Paul is a longtime law enforcement officer who responded at Ground Zero during the September 11 attacks, helping save lives in the immediate aftermath. He continued his career in public service with the Twisp Police Department and later served as Okanogan County Sheriff before returning to Twisp.

About a year and a half ago, Paul was diagnosed with leukemia. Today, he is also battling two secondary cancers.

Paul and his wife, Aimee, are parents to 12 children, 6 adopted through foster care, with five school-aged children still living at home. They have spent years opening their home and their lives to children who needed a family, and now they are facing an incredibly difficult season of their own.

As Paul continues treatment, the medical bills and related expenses continue to add up. While there are benefits available to 9/11 responders, the application and approval process is lengthy, leaving the Budrow family carrying these expenses while they wait for assistance.

Paul’s care also requires frequent travel and overnight stays, adding the cost of lodging, meals, prescriptions, and transportation. Their family vehicle is also experiencing mechanical issues at a time when reliable transportation is critical.

Our goal is to help bridge that gap and take some of the financial weight off Paul and Aimee while they navigate his treatment and the lengthy benefits process.
