Deputy Ken Geiger has always been the embodiment of dedication, serving as a Civil Service Deputy with the Montezuma County Sheriff's Office since 2019. Known for his hard work, compassion, and generosity, Ken is now facing the fight of his life against cancer. After celebrating the end of his first round of chemotherapy with the news that his cancer was gone, he now faces a new challenge as it has unfortunately returned. Ken's doctor has presented a new treatment option that requires him to travel to Denver for intensive care, spanning a month—two weeks inpatient and the subsequent two weeks outpatient, requiring daily hospital visits. As Ken and his wife Carol confront this challenging journey, they need our support to ease the financial burden of medical expenses, travel, and lodging. I post this update with great sadness. Montezuma County Sheriff's Office Civil Processing Deputy Ken Geiger passed away Thursday, August 21st while at home. Please keep his wife Carol and their family in your prayers. Thank you all so much for your support of this family throughout this battle. Ken will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Unfortunately, Ken's condition has worsened, and the treatment they tried was not effective this time. Ken's last day with the sheriff's office was yesterday, 8/6/25. He will be spending time at home with his wife and family. Please keep the Geiger family in your thoughts and prayers, and thank you so much to everyone who has supported him through this battle.

Happy update recently, Ken is now home with his wife. He is working on rebuilding his strength so that he can go back to work and doing things he enjoys. He will be going back to Denver later to check that the treatment worked on the cancer. For now though, he is feeling better!

Over the last couple of weeks, Deputy Geiger's health has, unfortunately, taken a turn for the worse. Nevertheless, he is still fighting his hardest. He is a very strong person, let's be strong for him as well and show our support! On behalf of him and his family, I would like to thank everyone who has already donated or who will donate and/or share this!
