Carmen Lawrence, a resilient mother and widow, faces overwhelming financial hardship after the tragic loss of her son, a dedicated police officer with the Denver Police, and her husband, a revered Nassau County detective who battled cancer. Carmen and Wayne married and Carmen's daughter, Kimberly was part of the equation. Wayne took her in and treated her as his own. Carmen and Wayne had two children, Matthew and Mark, but their worst nightmare occurred when Matthew drowned in their backyard pool at the age of two. Wayne battled lung cancer and when he passed, Carmen's only income became widow's social security. Mark traveled to Colorado at the age of twenty five and became a police officer with the Denver PD. On March 11, 2025, Mark died suddenly leaving Carmen without the financial help that Mark was giving her. Denver PD have been beyond gracious waking Mark for his coworkers in Denver and assisting Carmen with returning Mark to New York to be buried with his dad and brother.
