Selena is a bright, sassy, and caring little girl who has a special way of making everyone around her smile. Recently, her world — and her family’s — was turned upside down when she was diagnosed with leukemia.
Her mom, a dedicated Nassau County 911 dispatcher, is spending every moment possible by Selena’s side at Cohen’s Hospital, where Selena will be undergoing chemotherapy for at least the next 30 days. Her dad is right there too, holding everything together at home and doing his best to keep life as normal as possible for Selena’s two older brothers — who love their little sister more than anything and are rooting for her every single day.
Even in the face of something so scary, Selena remains in good spirits, showing strength and bravery far beyond her years. This family is navigating long hospital days, emotional nights, and unexpected financial stress — all while staying strong for their children during this incredibly difficult time.
