Unfortunately, our original fundraiser was taken down due to GoFundMe’s platform guidelines. As a result, a portion of the donations from that campaign will be returned to donors within approximately 3–7 business days.
To continue supporting Captain Kai and his family, this new page has been created on FundtheFirst.com. Before launching this campaign, I personally spoke with the founder and CEO of FundtheFirst.com, who confirmed that this fundraiser complies with the platform’s policies and will remain active so the community can continue supporting Kai during this difficult time.
We’re incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support, generosity, and kindness that has already been shown. Thank you for standing with us.
Our family is going through an unexpected and difficult situation, and we are asking for the support of our community. Captain Kai Bowen, an 18-year member of the NYPD, has recently been suspended from his job, which has created a sudden financial hardship for him and his family. While this situation is being resolved, the loss of income has made it challenging to cover attorney fees.
Anyone who knows Kai knows he is a hardworking, dedicated, and caring person who has always done his best to provide for his family and help others whenever he could. Instead of being recognized for his bravery, he has been suspended without pay. This situation has been incredibly stressful, and we are hoping to ease some of the financial burden incurred in attorney fees.
We are asking for any support you may be able to give, whether that is a donation or simply sharing this page with others. Every contribution, no matter the amount, will help the family cover essential expenses during this uncertain time. Our goal is for him to know that there shouldn’t be punishment for protecting our children against a child predator.
Thank you to everyone that stands with us — your support and generosity mean the world to us.
