I created this fundraiser for Sergio Gonzalez because now, more than ever, he needs the help and support of his family and friends. Anyone who knows Sergio knows that he would give the shirt off of his back to help someone in need. He is an amazing Father to 3 beautiful little boys who adore him! Aside from him being a dedicated family man, he is an active NYPD Sergeant who is assigned to the 102 detective squad. He has devoted 19 years of his life to serving, protecting and helping others.
Well, now he needs our help!
In January of this year, he received devastating news and was diagnosed with Head and Neck Cancer. He is currently undergoing chemo and radiation in hopes of one day being cancer free. We know this is going to be a long, hard road for him but if there's anyone who can fight this...we sure know it's him!
Unfortunately, as we all know insurance doesn't cover everything and the doctor/hospital co-pays/bills just continue to pile up. With him not currently working and not being able to make any overtime, these things have just become a heavy burden for him.
