Dear Blue Family, Friends and Community, one of our own needs our help. We are reaching out today on behalf of my old partner Christopher Romero, a Sergeant with the NYPD Highway Patrol.
In 2019, Chris was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, which is a long-term condition where the kidneys are damaged and cannot filter blood effectively. For over five years Chris has been battling this disease, but two months ago his condition worsened and he was given a diagnosis of end stage renal disease. After about a week or so in the hospital, Chris has begun dialysis treatments. Dialysis, a life-saving procedure for those with kidney failure, is more than just a physical ordeal- it’s a journey that tests the limits of human resilience.
As he undergoes treatment, medical expenses and time away from work are accumulating. Let's come together to support him and his family during this incredibly challenging time.
