On September 5th, 2025, Officer Eric McArthur - A beloved father, husband, son, uncle, and friend, passed away unexpectedly. He went into what is suspected to be a cardiac arrest at home.
Eric is a loved husband, caring dad and a courageous Officer and Veteran.
Backing the Blue Line stands united, offering support and strength to Shanna, his wife, two children - Caleb and Lila, and K-9 Finn, as they navigate this profound loss. Any Donations will go towards funeral expenses, counseling for the family, as well as any ongoing financial needs.

I had the pleasure of cutting Eric’s hair for many years, and often times his son as well. My heart is broken by this news and for his wife and kids especially. He truly was one of my favorite people I have ever met behind the chair.
Dear Shanna, Lila and Caleb: I just learned of Eric’s passing. My heart is broken. You are such a beautiful family. I am no longer in the Twin cities, but I will be praying for healing and comfort by our Lord Jesus. Shanna, I was 45 when I lost my husband and our children were 11 and 8. Lean on those who you know love you and the kids, hold on to one another, and may you feel the Lord’s arms around you.

I am so deeply saddened by the loss of Eric. He was not only a dedicated officer but also a loyal friend who always put others before himself. His service and his heart made a difference in so many lives, and his memory will continue to inspire all of us. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this incredibly difficult time.
