Our brother, NYPD Detective Michael Marra, needs our help.
For 18 years, Detective Marra has dedicated his life to protecting and serving the people of New York City. Throughout his distinguished career, he has worn many hats—serving with pride in the 73 Precinct, the 76 Precinct, the Candidate Assessment Division, and most recently, utilizing his expertise in the Detective Bureau’s Latent Print Section.
Michael has always been the guy we could count on. Now, he and his family are facing the toughest investigation of their lives.
Michael was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 Colon Cancer.
The road ahead is going to be incredibly grueling. His treatment plan includes 4 months of aggressive, high-intensity chemotherapy, followed by radiation and major surgery. Because of this intense medical battle, Michael will be unable to work or pull the overtime that so many of us rely on to support our households.
Beyond being a dedicated detective, Michael is a husband and a father to four beautiful children.
"I know firsthand how much the support of brothers and sisters matters during a medical crisis. When I went through my own illness, the generosity of others took a massive weight off my shoulders. It gave me one less thing to worry about so I could focus entirely on healing. I want to give that exact same peace of mind to Michael."

Prayer for Cancer Patients Through intercession of St. Michael of the Saints Most Holy Trinity, You who gave us Saint Michael of the Saints as trusted friend and intercessor, and as patron of those afflicted with cancer, look with kindness on your servants who this day invoke his name. Through his intercession, comfort those in distress, confirm those in doubt. Satisfy their spiritual needs from the treasury of your grace. Restore health to these parishioners and to all who are sick. Sanctify those who endure pain with Christ-like acceptance and grant to all of us a just reward in the life of glory to come. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Michael, you are in my thoughts and prayers as you face this battle. May God give you strength, comfort, and healing in the days ahead.
