For 34 years, Eric Czerniowski has served the community with dedication, compassion and a commitment unparalleled. His career in law enforcement began in 1991, where he joined the ranks of New York City’s finest as a Transit Police Officer. Eric served for two years before transferring to New Rochelle, where he would serve the remainder of his career. He worked as a street cop in the Patrol Division for five years before joining the ranks of the Special Investigations Unit, a unit he would then serve as Team Leader for until retirement in 2011. Eric’s work ethic earned him the rank of 1st Grade Detective, and the role of mentor to many younger detectives. But a man of Eric’s stature never stays retired for long. After 20 years in law enforcement, Eric went to work as the security supervisor for Circle Line, returning to NYC, a place he so deeply loves. He spent 3 years there, before he found his way to Sarah Lawrence College. A father of two amazing daughters, as well as a softball coach and manager of Yonkers Blaze, Eric was instantly able to connect with the student community at SLC. Beloved by everyone he has encountered, Eric has impacted many lives for the better. He was promoted to Lieutenant and has been instrumental in training and mentoring the officers of the Campus Safety Department. In 2024, Eric decided that he was far from done serving the community and became a NYS EMT.
