**Two Little Boys Lost Their Mom. Let’s Help Protect Their Future.**
Melissa Xenakis, 45, passed away suddenly, leaving behind her husband, Robert, and their two young sons, Henry (“Hank”), 5, and Nathan (“Nate”), 3—the center of her world.
Melissa was the kind of mother who built her life around her boys. She filled their days with love, curiosity, and meaningful experiences, always wanting their lives to be full of joy and opportunity. Everything she did was for them and the future she dreamed they would have.
She was also a dedicated speech-language pathologist in the Jericho School District, where she helped countless children find their voices with patience, warmth, and compassion. Her impact reached far beyond her own family.
This fund was created in response to the many requests from those who loved Melissa and wanted a way to help.
Now, Hank and Nate will grow up without their mom—but with the support of a community that cared about her deeply.
Funds raised will help provide for their future, including education and long-term needs. Contributions will be placed into a dedicated trust for Hank and Nate, ensuring the support goes directly to them when they are older.
If you’re able, please consider donating or sharing the link. Every contribution—no matter the size—helps carry forward the life Melissa built for her boys.

God, we place these beautiful boys in your hands, protect, guide, and strengthen them in the loss of their mother. May the soul of Melissa rest in peace.
I got to know Melissa through the inservice classes at Jericho. We took some classes together, she took some of the classes I taught and I am glad to be able to call her my friend. She had a wicket sense of humor and was just one of the real ones. A true light of a personality. Our interactions were sparse but meaningful over my 15 years working with her as her personality made me feel like we went way back to childhood. What an incredible spirit. I am glad I got to know her. I am so sorry for your loss and I wish you and your family peace through your grief.
