In the early morning hours of Friday, December 6, Charles tragically lost his life in a car accident while driving home from an overnight tour. Charles was a friend, a son, a husband to Angela, and father to Ben and Sara. He was also an exceptional Detective who worked tirelessly to support police officers during their most traumatic times. 

Charles joined the New York City Police Department in 2007 and was assigned to patrol in the 32 Precinct. In 2015 he transferred to the 113 Detective Squad and promoted to Detective in 2017. Since 2019, Charles was assigned to the Force Investigation Division where he was an integral part of officer-involved shooting investigations. 

Charles was a big presence in the lives of many. At home and at work, his shoes will be impossible to fill. When tragedy strikes, the financial burdens that come with it can be enormous. We are asking that you find it in your heart to donate whatever you can to support Charles’ family at this terrible time, and help ease the pain of this tragedy. Charles gave the last 17 years of his life to the NYPD and the people of New York City; the city is a better place because of him.
