On June 12, 2025, following the sentencing of Andrew J. Davison for attempted murder, Davison violently attacked two Lorain County Deputies inside the courtroom while being taken into custody.

During the struggle, Davison overpowered the deputies and turned his attack toward Sgt. Walker, who immediately stepped in to help. Despite being unarmed and without protective equipment, Sgt. Walker engaged the suspect and was struck multiple times before ultimately bringing him to the ground. Davison continued to violently resist, requiring additional officers to gain control of the situation.

Sgt. Walker’s quick thinking and willingness to put himself in harm’s way helped prevent further injury to court staff, deputies, and civilians who were present that day.

Unfortunately, Sgt. Walker suffered significant injuries during the incident, including injuries that required surgery. He continues to deal with the physical effects of that day and faces multiple additional surgeries as he works toward recovery.

What makes this journey even more difficult is that Sgt. Walker is not only focused on his own recovery, he is a father who has a family depending on him. He is raising twins who are on the autism spectrum and has continued to face the many challenges that come with caring for his family while navigating his own recovery.

He has since transitioned to workers' compensation, creating additional financial challenges during an already incredibly difficult time. Between medical expenses, upcoming surgeries, time away from work, and the everyday responsibilities of supporting his family, the road ahead is a long one.

Sgt. Walker has spent his career serving and protecting others. Now, we have an opportunity to return that support to him.

Our goal is to help ease some of the financial burden on Sgt. Walker and his family while he focuses on healing, preparing for the surgeries ahead, and getting back on his feet.
