Massapequa Coast Little League is raising funds to help cover the travel, lodging, and tournament-related expenses associated with three championship teams representing our community at the New York State, Regional, and potentially World Series levels.

These opportunities are an incredible accomplishment for our young athletes, but they also create significant and often unexpected expenses for the players, coaches, families, and Massapequa Coast Little League. Many families must arrange travel and hotel accommodations on short notice while balancing work and other responsibilities. The league also incurs substantial expenses while supporting the teams throughout these tournaments.

Massapequa Coast Little League has long been a cornerstone of the Massapequa community. The program provides young athletes with the opportunity to develop lasting friendships, learn teamwork, practice good sportsmanship, and represent their hometown through the game of baseball.

Massapequa Coast is also widely recognized as one of the most successful Little League programs in New York State. This year, Little League International recognized Massapequa Coast as a Top 15 performer within a region consisting of 10 states and more than 1,500 Little League programs.

During the current summer season, Massapequa Coast’s Williamsport All-Star teams competed across all six levels of Little League Baseball’s nationwide tournament structure. Continuing a winning tradition that has lasted more than two decades, our players are once again making their mark throughout New York State and beyond.

Three Massapequa Coast teams have achieved extraordinary success:

• The Intermediate Williamsport All-Star Team, consisting of 13-year-old players, was crowned New York State Champion and advanced to the Regional Tournament in Delaware.
• The 10-Year-Old Williamsport All-Star Team won the Long Island Section Championship and advanced to the Final Eight of the New York State Championship.
• The 11-Year-Old Williamsport All-Star Team also won the Long Island Section Championship and began its New York State Championship run with a victory in its first game.

These achievements continue the proud tradition established by the 2022 Massapequa Coast team that reached the Little League World Series. That team became the first from Long Island to participate in the tournament since 1978 and remains the only Long Island team to have reached the Little League Baseball World Series in the past 49 years.

Advancing to State and Regional competition requires teams to travel to locations such as Syracuse, New York, and Delaware. While Massapequa Coast has a reimbursement system that assists with a portion of the expenses incurred by players and coaches, the remaining travel and hotel costs can still place a substantial financial burden on participating families.

These expenses also affect the league itself. Massapequa Coast remains committed to keeping youth baseball affordable, with regular-season registration costing approximately $110 to $140. Registration fees will remain unchanged in 2027 for the third consecutive year. Tournament players pay an additional nominal fee, but that amount is calculated strictly according to the actual cost per player, with no profit margin included.

Massapequa Coast Little League is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community organization operated entirely by passionate volunteer board members and dedicated volunteer coaches. We believe every child should have the opportunity to participate, compete, and thrive in the game they love without financial circumstances limiting that opportunity.

Every dollar raised through this campaign will be used to assist with expenses related to the State, Regional, and potential World Series participation of these three championship teams. Funds will help support the players, coaches, families, and Massapequa Coast Little League as they proudly represent our community at the highest levels of Little League Baseball.
