My dad is one of the strongest and most selfless people I know. He dedicated 37 years of his life to protecting and serving others, working in law enforcement with both the Wharton County Sheriff’s Office and the Sugar Land Police Department. His commitment to his community was unwavering — always the first to step in, to lend a hand, and to put others before himself.
A few years ago, he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, a progressive neurological condition that affects movement, coordination, and quality of life. Parkinson’s has made daily life increasingly difficult — affecting everything from mobility to basic tasks we often take for granted.
His medical team now recommends Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) surgery, a specialized procedure that can significantly improve symptoms and restore some independence. DBS is not a cure, but it offers hope — a chance for relief after years of steady decline.
This procedure is complex and costly, requiring extensive evaluations, and ongoing care. As a family, we’re doing all we can to support him through this next chapter. We’re sharing his story not just to ask for help, but to honor his legacy — the years he gave to serve and protect others — and to give him the best chance at a better quality of life.
