Support for a Retired Trauma Nurse

​Dear Friends and Neighbors,

​I am writing to you today with a humble heart. For 30 years, I served our community as an ER Trauma, ICU, and CCU nurse, standing by others in their most difficult hours. Now, I find myself needing to ask for that same support.

​I am currently facing an urgent financial crisis following the loss of my retirement savings and a difficult divorce. I have no savings, no backup, and no one to help me. I have shouldered the burden of all household finances alone, even having to take out loans to pay property taxes on the home I’ve lived in since 2003.

​By the time I'm done paying all my bills, I have nothing left to live on. It has become so dire that I have to go to the Salvation Army just for food. To be completely transparent about the urgency, I currently have only 83 cents to my name.

​My situation is further complicated by severe physical injuries and the toll of three recent surgeries. Most devastatingly, following my last eye surgery, I have been told that I am going blind. This news has left me struggling to navigate my medical care and basic living expenses alone.

​I have spent my career healing others, and it is incredibly difficult to be on the side of needing care. If you are able to donate to my Fund the First campaign, any amount would provide much-needed stability as I face these life-altering challenges.
