Help a Firefighter Family Rebuild After Devastating House Fire
Yesterday, a devastating house fire in Valley Stream NY took everything from a family who has spent their lives protecting others.
This family lost their entire home—every possession, every sense of normalcy—in a matter of hours. The father is a dedicated NYC firefighter who has also proudly served his community as a local volunteer firefighter, repeatedly putting himself in harm’s way to protect others. Now, he and his family need help.
He and his girlfriend and two children—a 17-year-old daughter and a 19-year-old son—are suddenly without a home, clothing, school and work essentials, and even the most basic daily necessities. They escaped the fire with their lives, but they lost everything else.
This is an immediate crisis. The family urgently needs support for:
Temporary housing
Clothing and shoes
Food and daily necessities
School, work, and transportation needs
Replacing essential personal items
To our First Responder brothers and sisters and local community:
This is one of our own. He has answered the call for our community time and time again—on our worst days, without hesitation.
Firefighters and first responders are often the first to show up when tragedy strikes. Now is our chance—as neighbors, colleagues, and community members—to show up for him and his family.
He has been there for our worst days. Let us be there for him and his family.
Today, the call is for him. Please help if you can.
No donation is too small. Every contribution will go directly toward helping this family meet their immediate needs and begin the long process of rebuilding after this unimaginable loss. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser widely.
Let’s remind this family that they are not facing this alone.
Thank you for your compassion, generosity, and support.
