Our family is facing the heartbreaking reality that my dad, a proud retired NYPD officer has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was given just a few months to live. My dad had no symptoms other than losing weight, after going to the doctor he was told that he had advanced pancreatic cancer that spread to both his liver and lungs.  There is nothing that can be done and we were told that we do not have much time to be with him  Needless to say our entire lives have been turned upside down, especially my moms who will now have to face a life without her partner of 55 years.  He spent his life serving and protecting others, putting other peoples needs before his very own.  My dad gave us a life that we did not have to worry about things, he took care of everything for all of us.   With this devastating news  I have come to learn that when my father passes my mom will lose her health benefits and my dads pension.  I recently moved out of my apartment and back home to support my parents in any possible way. My mothers main focus as well as mine is to make his remaining time as comfortable and peaceful as possible.  This fundraiser is to help relieve some of the financial stress my mom will be facing upon his passing, I want my dad to know that we are putting him first and this time his needs will be first,  If you can find it in you heart to contribute a little something to help my mom bare this burden that she facing in the next chapter of her life it would be greatly appreciated and my dad can pass with peace and without worry.    Thank you for your compassion, prayers and support it truly means everything.
