Karrie Ogle has always been the kind of woman who quietly shows up for everyone—family, friends, neighbors, and strangers alike. For decades, she has stood faithfully beside her husband, Mike, a Sacramento County Deputy Sheriff who dedicated his career to protecting and serving the community. When Mike retired, they finally looked forward to the peaceful, joy-filled chapter they had earned: traveling together, making memories with loved ones, and simply enjoying the life they built with so much love and sacrifice.

But in an instant, everything changed. Karrie was diagnosed with angiosarcoma of the heart—one of the rarest and most aggressive cancers known, with very little research and almost no established treatment path. What should have been a season of rest and celebration has become a heartbreaking journey filled with terrifying unknowns, overwhelming decisions, and more questions than answers. Instead of planning road trips and family gatherings, Mike and Karrie are now navigating specialists, hospital visits, and the unimaginable weight of fighting for Karrie’s life.

Despite their strength, their faith, and their determination, this diagnosis has taken a profound emotional and financial toll. Karrie is unable to work, and with Mike newly retired, they are relying heavily on the support of those around them. In their search for hope, Karrie has recently as asked to be referred to an out-of-network specialist—one of the few with experience in this unique and devastating form of cancer. This offers their best chance at more time, more answers, and more hope. But the heartbreaking reality is that this treatment is not covered by insurance, leaving them with an unexpected and overwhelming financial burden at the very moment they need support the most.

Now it is our turn to rally around two people who have spent their lives serving, loving, and lifting others. Let’s stand beside Mike and Karrie the way they have so often stood beside their community. Your donation—no matter the amount—will help ease the financial strain, support Karrie’s fight, and remind them they are not alone in this battle. Together, we can give them strength during the most difficult chapter of their lives.
