The Fairview Township Police Department is looking to bring a K-9 back to the agency for the first time in over 20 years. We plan to start our program with a "floppy-eared" K-9 specializing in tracking and narcotics detection. Fairview Township is at the intersection of Interstate 83 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike. We are less than five minutes outside of Harrisburg and are at the crossroads of Philadelphia, Baltimore/Washington, and Pittsburgh. We have 13 hotels, most of which are of the low-cost variety. As a result, we see a lot of drug activity coming into and passing through our Township. A K-9 will make us much more effective in conducting investigations into illegal and dangerous narcotics.
Our goal is to get this program off the ground using zero taxpayer money. We have already seen buy-in from our business community and are opening this up to all friends of the Fairview Township Police Department. If you would like to help us get this K-9 program up and running, please consider making a donation. All contributions will go to an account set aside specifically for expenses related to getting our K-9 on the street.
