For over 30 years, Firefighter I Heyward Stovall has been a constant presence and a pillar of strength for the CAL FIRE San Benito-Monterey Unit (BEU). Assigned to the Hollister Battalion, Heyward has dedicated his life to protecting our communities and serving the citizens of California.
The Situation:
Heyward is currently hospitalized and facing a significant medical battle that requires ongoing dialysis. For a seasonal firefighter, an unexpected health crisis like this creates an immediate and severe financial burden. The inability to work, combined with mounting medical costs and day-to-day living expenses, has created a hardship that no firefighter should face alone.
A Mentor to Many:
To know Heyward is to respect him. With more than three decades of service, he has been more than a colleague—he has been a mentor, guide, and steady presence for countless firefighters who have passed through BEU. He has shared his experience, watched over rookies, and helped shape the careers of many who serve today, as well as those who have retired from our department. Now it is our turn to stand behind him.
How You Can Help:
We are raising funds to support Heyward and his sister, who will be serving as his primary caregiver throughout his recovery.
Your donations will go directly toward:
- Out-of-pocket medical expenses and treatments not fully covered by insurance
- Transportation and logistics for dialysis
- Essential living expenses for Heyward and support for his sister as she manages his care
Please help us support a man who has spent more than 30 years supporting all of us. Any amount makes a difference, and sharing this fundraiser with your network is deeply appreciated.
Thank you for supporting Firefighter Stovall and for standing with our fire family.
